Technology is a way of life - we live in a world where multimedia is increasing in significance and influence. For example the next time you walk into the auditorium take a look around; large format audio consoles and digitally controlled amplifiers to drop down screens, and large format video projectors, the church as a whole is embracing the technologies of the new millennium and using them to spread the gospel of Christ.

The Central Technical Ministry exists to inform, educate, and encourage the Central family to take part in Central's many ministry areas. There are many opportunities for this relatively new ministry and several things we already do.

e-Ministry

Did you know that nearly 1 billion people use the Internet and it is also a primary research tool of the average person - it is literaly changing our world. There is so much negative content on the web that anything we can do to add positive Christian values will only help our society. There are so many ways the web can be used to further the Gospel message. It is really limited only by your imagination. This is a growing ministry and we are in need of willing workers. How effective would the best sermon be if no one could hear it? The audio Ministry controls the sound system for worship services and other activities. This is the team that captures the sounds of the weekly worship service, and then distributes them on cassettes and CD's. The audio tools are then distributed to people within the congregation. These are also converted to MP3 format and posted on the website.

Computer Ministry

This ministry exists to support the information technology (IT) needs of Central. With technology rapidly changing which has the potential to make communication, networking, creating publications and basic computer operations more efficient this ministry has a wide range of rresponsibility. Some of these responsibilities include:

• Upgrade the in-house Computer Network.

• Support for the church computers and printers

• Produce Powerpoint presentations and slide shows

• Any other "techie" need.

Areas in which there are opportunities where we would like to grow the ministry :

• Video Ministry where we could transfer from the auditorium to the foyer and live internet streaming.

• Produce presentations and materials (including special effects) for special events such as Dayschool Sunday and VBS.

• Produce documentary reports of Central's short-term mission efforts such as campaigns and medical missions.

• Assist visiting missionaries in producing mission reports on their work.

• Produce high-quality audio recordings of the lessons during worship and provide sound reinforcement services for special events.
