Understanding that “the church” is the people and not “the building” is a lesson that is much more deeply engrained now than it was before the tornado of April 27, 2011.
Destruction that seemed unimaginable came suddenly to our church building, student center and both of our vehicles. The realization that all we had lost was a mere physical structure came more gradually. What nature “intended” for ill, God is using for His own good purpose in the Central Church of Christ in Tuscaloosa!

"you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:5
As we proceed together with the long process of designing and rebuilding our physical home, we recognize the need to build up the church spiritually and numerically to be our first priority. If you are seeking a “church home”, come give us a chance to share with you in your personal “rebuilding project”. Come and discover what God has in mind for you at Central!
If, however, you are not in Tuscaloosa or if you are already actively involved in another congregation we still need your help. Due to insufficient insurance coverage we are in the midst of a capital campaign striving to raise $2 million for our new building.
